Tom Mawhinney

Senior Consultant

Tom Mawhinney is a leader in the construction industry with over twenty years ofexperience in heavy industrial, civil and power plant construction. In addition to his work as a consultant with CM-Services, he is a project manager with CM-Services’ parent, Brycon Corporation, a heavy industrial, structural/mechanical/electrical contractor in the mid-Atlantic region. Prior to this role, he worked as a senior project engineer and manager for an Engineering News Record Top 100 contractor, with responsibility for total project and financial management. Projects under his leadership during this tenure included capital improvement of a wastewater treatment facility, mechanical and electrical improvement for a bridge rehabilitation job, and installation oversight of major mechanical systems – boiler, economizer/superheater, reactor, air heater and related piping/ductwork – for a waste-to-energy facility. Tom also brings over ten years experience in the energy field where he led power plant maintenance and construction projects and provided energy usage surveys and recommendations. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo. In addition to leadership in numerous civic organizations, Tom is an active member of the Construction Financial Management Association and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and he is a past treasurer for the Association of Energy Engineers.
